Well, I started this post on Thursday night...then tried to work on it late Friday night after the football game...then Saturday, between grocery shopping and celebrating my Dad's birthday, shockingly, I fell asleep trying to get it finished. Let's just skip Sunday's excuses, okay?
Sooooo.....how could I not share these adorably funny pictures from last spring? May Day brought with it a balmy spring breeze, and I stopped at the store to pick up some fresh corn on the cob for dinner...a bit too early for Indiana corn, but fresh nonetheless. I sent Mickey and Caroline out to shuck the corn...what kid doesn't enjoy the mess that naturally comes with peeling back the layers to discover a juicy ear of corn? A few minutes later I heard squeals from Mickey. Apparently cooked corn is overrated. It had, after all, been a long winter's wait for Caroline's first taste of the season, and she couldn't wait any longer. She took that first clean ear of corn right out of Mickey's hands and dug in! The picture above is my absolute favorite, but there are a lot of close seconds.
We eventually managed to pry the corn from one determined little girl and distract her with her new mini Bubble Tumbler. Not to be upstaged, Mickey decided to haul the ladder out and show me his latest trick with our broken swing (that has since been replaced). And this time around, it obviously didn't turn out the way he had planned. I left out the last picture in the slide show sequence below. It will definitely go in the family scrapbook, but you'll have to use your imagination. Poor guy.
And you gotta love the pictures of my little "Miss Tiny Hiney". I pulled these jeans out of storage because she had started to outgrow (in length) her cute little Old Navy jeans that fit her little hiney so well. Sadly, these jeans didn't make the spring cut...even with a diaper. I'm not sure they'll make it into the fall wardrobe, seeing as how we are almost done with diapers and pull-ups...leaving not a whole lot to hold up the pants!

Ah, the joys of corn on the cob ~ cooked or not...
The shots of them shucking and Caroline snatching a bite are adorable, but the one of Mickey striking some sort of pose is priceless!!! That is so Mickey!
