Turns out, it's not really about the game...

Thankfully, Caroline had a good nap after her program this afternoon. Our wonderful neighbors invited us to go to the Pacers game with them, so we piled in the car, stopped at McDonald's and headed downtown. It was a real treat for me, especially...I am a true Pacers fan. I must admit, though, that my enthusiasm for the game has waned in recent years with the retirement of Reggie "Boom Baby" Miller and the dismantling of the team that finally made it to the NBA Championships a few years ago. Gone are the days of Mark Jackson, Rick Smits, Dale Davis and Antonio Davis. Our current team has a lot of maturing to do, needless to say. Still, I was excited about going to a game...it's been a very long time! It was especially fun to be able to take all the kids! Turns out, though, that it's really not about the game...it's about the stuff...the souvenirs, the cotton candy and the five pounds of candy our neighbor smuggled in for the kids! I am not exaggerating! She brought Reese's Pieces, gummy Lifesavers, sour gummy Lifesavers, Twizzlers...add to that the obligatory popcorn and soda, and, well, I'm a little sick, just thinking about it..

Mindy's all about the cotton candy,
but Caroline isn't so sure, at first...

Mindy LOVES cotton candy! So she and Abby just had to share some with Caroline. At first, she didn't really like the texture, but she got a good enough taste that she ended up wanting more! It was hilarious.

Not so bad, on second thought...

We were greatly entertained by a couple of little boys in front of us who were thoroughly enjoying their evening. They were hollering at every call, and they boogied their behinds off during every time out. It didn't take long for Mickey to ask for one of those foam fingers that the boys were sporting. What surprised us, though, is that he suddenly starting calling out his own cheers and jeers! Pretty funny, I'll tell you!

Just about the time the Pacers secured their win over the Sixers, Caroline crashed from the sugar rush, and it was time to head home. It was such a fun night, though, to share with our dear friends! Thanks, guys!

Game over, literally...

Forgot to mention...my littlest one has two new words. As we were driving to the game, munching on our McDonald's, I hear two words from the back seat..."coke" and "fwies"!

The fact that Caroline can say "coke" and "fwies" does not surprise me at all ~ what does is that they weren't her FIRST two words...

Glad you had fun at the game! Love you guys!
