Mickey's coat and snow pants were barely dry before he was begging to go out again. I had to hurry and shower to catch up with my crew. As it was, I didn't get ANY pictures of Abby...she was already frozen to the bone before I even got out the door! Bah! Mindy helped me get Caroline's snow gear on, and we headed out. Turns out that the official Indianapolis reading at the airport on the west side was 12.5 inches...the sixth largest snowfall on record for Indianapolis, so our average measurements were right on. Also turns out that a foot of snow is hard to walk in, especially if you're only a couple of feet tall to begin with!
It was slow going in the deep snow. An attempt at a snow angel pretty much became a trench. What we thought was going to be a wet snow ended up being too light to pack, so a snowman was out for now. We trudged next door to see the snow cave and tunnel built from the mountain of snow cleared from their driveway! Caroline was a little intimidated by the snow cave, but she happily sat in it with our neighbor, Kennedi. Mickey and Regan were thoroughly enjoying a the snow tunnel they made on the other side of the driveway, although it was showing signs of wear already.
Next up...sledding on the creek hill...check back for the next batch of photos...

I'm so jealous of that snowfall! Maybe one day we'll see that in NC ~ yeah right...
So I hate to point it out, but Caroline really looks a lot older now that she's three!
