Now that it's spring...

DSC_0272e

Is there a blogging award for the people who are ALWAYS behind? Who have a hard drive full of photos just waiting to be uploaded? Who are constantly walking around writing blog posts in their heads but never manage to sit down at the computer and make them a reality? If so, will someone please nominate me? I might actually win that one!

I found these on my memory card the other day, and they were just too cute not to share. They were taken just a few days after Caroline's birthday in January. It had started snowing that morning and continued through the afternoon and evening. I snapped these before the big kids got home from school and before the temperatures took a nose-dive! We ended up with about six inches, but school was cancelled the next day due to below-zero wind chills, more than the snow. Which meant a houseful of kids and nowhere to go...yes, I do believe I am ready for spring! As the weather warms and the hats and mittens are packed away, I'll take with me these memories of a brown-eyed beauty reveling in the freshly fallen snow!

And I'm pretty sure that's the cutest hat
on the cutest Chinese kid ever...

For the record, the first day of spring brought sunshine, but chilly temperatures. I am about stir crazy from two weeks of a sick household. We're on the mend, I think. By evening, Caroline was actually quite perky...and she ate all four of her chicken nuggets from McDonald's for lunch! That's the most food she's consumed in over a week! She's back to "reading" piles of books at the top of her lungs and taking turns aggravating or being aggravated by her brother. I am dragging along, hoping to be able to sleep tonight...the whole breathing thing kind of contradicts the sleeping thing. I am SO looking forward to warm days of throwing the windows open and smelling that fresh spring breeze!

We are so ready for spring here, too! Fresh air, warm temperatures, lots of sunshine, green grass, and flowers! The pics of Caroline are beautiful! She is looking more and more grown up, though!
